A visit this morning to the Cochise County Treasurer’s office resulted in an interesting encounter. The lady at the desk, wearing comically unprofessional theater-grade bright make-up, demonstrated what a “gatekeeper” looks like in real life.
An inquiry was made regarding an alleged lien against a private home. This inquiry was met with “we don’t have to give you that information”!! Can you imagine? “It’s a tax lien”… as if that explains everything. With a general air of incompetence, the “public servant” dismissed the man she was hired to serve as if he were the servant inquiring into matters that are not his concern, while she was somehow privileged and untouchable. In reality, she is just incompetent and badly trained. But the superiors will back her because she prevents people from getting too close to the Priest Class behind the curtain.
Here’s the thing. This alleged “tax lien” is NOT recorded on the public record. It is NOT available for inspection. It is NOT available to see if it is valid or has any merit. It just simply IS, because a computer system in the office triggered a process on a scheduled day. Then a “certificate” evidencing this fake lien’s alleged existence was sold to a private investor. We are allowed to get this person’s name, but that’s it. Having inquired of people who have purchased these “tax lien certificates” in the past, I know first hand that it is utterly impossible to simply get a look at the item in question. People literally refuse to hold out a piece of paper and let you look at it. Is there some secret sacred oath taken before obtaining this mystery paper??
So some entity or person out there now holds a “certificate” that serves as evidence of an alleged actual lien that cannot be verified or inspected and is not recorded on the public record. Now this party can, after a certain time period, go forth and begin eviction proceedings against the owner of a private home, summoning up a group of well-armed men wearing the robes of government power to do their bidding, and force you to leave your home over a document you can’t even verify exists, for a claim that certainly does NOT exist since the government has NO rights, title, interest, or claim of ownership over your private home! Have you ever heard the term “eminent domain”? The government CANNOT touch your private property without paying you a fair market value for it (called “just compensation”)! So they unleash a fraudulent scheme to insert a private investor into the scam. Now it’s just an eviction process by a private party for an unpaid debt! But does the debt actually exist?? Can they prove it? Where’s the contract? Did you consent? Did you have full disclosure? What valuable consideration did they offer you in exchange for your role in the contract? Questions they will NEVER ANSWER!!
Imagine this. You have a $600k home that you paid for in full, and some guy buys a certificate for an alleged but unverifiable “tax lien” for maybe $12k, and now he can evict you and sell your house out from under you AT AUCTION just so he can get his money back. What about YOUR money?!! You own this home, spent your money on it, built equity in your property, improved it, installed new cabinets and remodeled the bathroom. But they strip all this value from you through fraud and deceit! As we all know, a quick sale at auction is only going to get a fraction of the home’s actual value because only bottom-feeder investors have the cash for such a quick sale and they only want something they can flip for big profits. You lose your home, are forced into an emergency move, lose lots of personal belongings because you can’t get it all packed and moved in time, and now you have to scramble for a place to live with very short notice, now paying higher RENT for a smaller run-down place than you were paying for your nice house that you were proud of. The expenses for such an imposed crisis are astronomical. “Well, you should have just paid the tax!” And here we are.
Is the tax valid?? You aren’t allowed to ask. The Board of Supervisors will not talk to you, feigning ignorance and impotence to do anything about it, even though the statutes provide them with full power to audit and question the activity of any elected official in the county. The Treasurer thinks she is untouchable and will not bother to interact with you mere mortal peasants who are under her dominion. The Assessor here in Cochise County who made the false claim against your home in the first place is not only holding office illegally – not having executed the mandatory surety bond, but he is never in his office and will never have a discussion with you about the validity of his claim that your home is even taxable to begin with. Even though there are many people who have proven to this impostor that the tax on their home is unlawful, and managed to press him hard enough to remove their property from the tax roll, he will still tow the political line and feign ignorance while stonewalling you and refusing to communicate. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Because the County’s revenue is supreme and far above petty matters like your rights.
These criminals literally have to be sued in federal court in order to compel them to obey the laws that establish their office in the first place. The government is unchained and completely out of control, entirely unresponsive, and moving quickly to strip people of their wealth as fast as they can in order to enrich themselves through their government office position. And 99% of you out there just blindly comply, funding your own oppression because you are too ignorant and afraid to stand up and challenge them. “But I’ve known so-and-so and his/her family for decades, and they are good people”… you say as they rob you. If it weren’t the superstition of “government authority” in question here, one would describe most “citizens” with the phrase “Stockholm Syndrome”.
